Whenever children are together, there is a chance of spreading infections. This is especially true among infants and toddlers, who are likely to use their hands to wipe their noses or rub their eyes and then handle toys or touch other children. These children then touch their noses and rub their eyes so that pathogens go from the nose or eyes of one child by way of hands or toys to the next child who then rubs his own eyes or nose. Children get sick a lot in the first several years of life as their bodies are building immunity to infections. You need a product that is safe to use around children and has other benefits such as:
– 100% Natural
– Approved and registered
– Cost saving
Reducing the microbial load of the facility doesn’t just keep the children healthier, it also reducing the sick rates of the staff.
A childcare facility in Brighton, VIC was looking to implement a new infection control program after having a gastro outbreak. The facility previously heavily relied on commonly available disinfectant wipes for their everyday disinfection needs and never really looked into an overall infection control program. The management of the facility wanted to ensure that a 100% natural, yet effective product is being used as they feared potential complaints from the children’s’ parents otherwise.
The MicroSafe team got together with the contracted facility management company, who was cleaning the facility every weekday evening, to introduce them to use Nanocyn® together with the fumigation machines at the facility. The centre now gets fumigated three times a week after general cleaning and tidying. Only a marginal amount of working hours are added to the cleaning contract as the fumigation is much quicker than conventional spray and wipe. Additionally, Nanocyn® spray bottles are available in every room and the kitchens for immediate use throughout the day. The MicroSafe team arranged a training & information day, informing staff and interested parents of the new procedures which was very well received.
The facility has not experienced any more outbreaks since implementing Nanocyn®; the educator sick rates have also been reduced. Parents highly appreciate the fact that an approved and registered product, which is also 100%, is used around the children and the proactive approach of the facility to educate parents has led to an increase in enrollments to full capacity. The facility is now heading towards an “Excellent” rating- awarded by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
